“Finalmente” opens in Sleepy Hollow

For those of you who remember a New York Times “Three Star” restaurant in  Granite Springs (Yorktown area) called Damiano’s, the family name is back again in Sleepy Hollow on upper Beekman Avenue under the name of “Finalmente.” Where the original was owned and managed by Marie and Dan Damiano, Sr., the new entry is owned by son, Dan Damiano, Jr.  It promises to be a brand new and exciting Italian specialty restaurant featuring a raw bar, paninis, soups and salads.

Damiano, Jr. has put into his comfortable 49-seat restaurant a double kitchen, one for lunch and dinner, and a second for late evening diners. Dan expects to be at full service with seven to nine people on staff and has engaged Donato Desirio, formerly of Manhattan’s “Sign of the Dove” and “Il Cortile” restaurants, to be the new chef. Dan expects that the idea of a second, late closing kitchen and bar will be unique in the area and will become popular with those who are looking for a later evening dining experience.

Dan Jr. says the restaurant will be ready for business around the l5th of December and will be open seven days a week. Parties of six or more can make reservations at 914-909-4787.   Address: 31 Beekman Ave., Sleepy Hollow, N.Y. 10591.
