Anthony & Josyane, A Passion for Food and Event Planning

Anthony Goncalves is an intuitive man in addition to being the Executive Chef at 42 The Restaurant, in White Plains. Josyane Colwell is equally intuitive and her Le Moulin Event Planning & Fine Catering business in Irvington has thrived due to her passion for food, exceptional service and knowing how to please people.

imagesWhen Anthony met Josyane at a wine tasting event in New York City, according to Anthony, “We clicked immediately. I had known of Josyane but had never met her before. A lot of people in this business create stories about themselves and what they have done. Josyane doesn’t have to say anything because her work speaks for her. She is a perfectionist when it comes to food and event planning. I am passionate about food and its preparation, so we are a perfect fit,” Goncalves said. This new and mutual admiration is shared by Josyane Colwell.

“Both Anthony and I grew up around great cooking. I was raised in southern France and was always picking fruit or vegetables on my way walking to school. I grew up on farmland and had an appreciation and love for food and the way it pleases people. I love its colors, smells and the way it makes you think and feel. When I met Anthony, I could feel the synergy between us. I asked him if he would cook for me. He did and I truly enjoyed his food,” she said.

What came about from this casual and more than coincidental meeting has been a partnership between Anthony and Josyane. That partnership takes special events with incredible food and beautiful atmosphere to new heights. Success for Josyane Colwell is summed up with her claim, “I can’t handle all the work I have and want to turn my attention solely to event planning. I will be, as I always have been, in charge of every aspect of an event. What will be different is that I won’t be cooking. Anthony will, she said. “For me, I will do what I truly love and have complete control over it,” said Goncalves. He is by his own admission happiest when in his kitchen creating food and sharing the dishes with people who want something special and of the highest quality.

By their own account, words like passion, respect, honor and tradition describe both Anthony and Josyane. Their ambition is to share food and fine events with people. No event is too small, neither is any too big. From small, intimate private parties, to large celebrations and special corporate events, they intend to bring a level of expertise that is unmatched. Food is art to each and special events provide them with a gallery to showcase their talents.
