Irvington School District welcomed students back to school for the start of the 2026-27 school year, marking the beginning of another year of learning, growth and connection across the district.
Students returned to Dows Lane Elementary School, Main Street School, Irvington Middle School and Irvington High School, where Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mara Ratesic joined administrators and principals in greeting students as they arrived for their first day. Returning students were welcomed back to familiar hallways, while new students began their first day as members of the Irvington school community.
Across the district, the morning was filled with the excitement of a new beginning as students arrived at their schools and reconnected with teachers, administrators and classmates.
As the new school year gets underway, the district will continue to foster the values of the Irvington Way while providing learning experiences that support the skills and attributes reflected in its Portrait of a Graduate. These guiding principles will continue to shape opportunities for students to learn, grow and prepare for their futures throughout the year.
The first day marked the beginning of a new year of opportunities for students across all grade levels. Irvington School District looks forward to supporting its students through the 2026-27 school year and continuing to foster welcoming and engaging school communities where all students can learn and grow.
