As Sleepy Hollow’s village elections approach, I am excited to introduce myself: my name is Cory Krall, and I am a candidate for the Board of Trustees. I’d be honored if you cast your ballot for me on November 4th.
I am a lifelong Rivertown resident and have lived in Sleepy Hollow for over a decade. My husband and I started our family here. Our kids are now 6 and 8, and we proudly send them to our public schools and participate in local activities where we’ve gotten to know many of you. AYSO, TNT, Rivertown Rays, Jr. Horseman, Sleepy Hollow Lacrosse: this list goes on and on. I volunteer with the PTA for school events and the Communications Committee, where I advise the district on improving messaging information to parents.
Professionally, I’ve spent my career supporting schools and nonprofits with community outreach and family engagement—which means I’m a good listener. I build deep relationships and I know how to harness the power of people into action.
I am so optimistic for the future of our growing village. When I bought my first home here, the area that is Edge-on-Hudson was still the abandoned GM plant. Now it’s a bustling waterfront community filled with new neighbors and businesses. We continue to see new shops open along Beekman Avenue, joining wonderful mainstays in our downtown. Our schools are making much-needed facility improvements so that our kids can learn in state-of-the-art buildings. This is an exciting time to be a Sleepy Hollow resident, and it just keeps getting better!
There is more work to do. We need Village Hall to use modern communication platforms to engage our savvy residents on important decisions and encourage participation in our local government and our vibrant community events. We need to fill empty storefronts and revitalize aging facades. We have to make infrastructure improvements so residents have safe, clean water to drink and can travel on safe sidewalks and roadways. We can do all of this while also improving our village’s financial health and yes, keeping taxes low!
I humbly ask you to vote for me because I will always be honest with you. You can count on me to share what’s happening at Village Hall, to ask for your input, and to make decisions aligned with our shared values. When I commit to something, I put my whole self into it. So I promise if you elect me and my running mates, Marjorie Hsu, Jared Rodriguez and Jairo Triguero, we will work tirelessly to represent your voice as we shape our bright future in Sleepy Hollow.
