Tarrytown Village Notes

The following notes are from joint Tarrytown Board of Trustees,Planning Board or School Board meetings over the past month and are intended to provide the reader with a summary of where major issues stand:

• May l6 will be the date for the Public Vote on the proposed School Budget. In a press release the Board announced a budget of $50,605,362 which represents an increase of 8.26% over the current year. This will translate into increases of 5.7% in the Tarrytown portion of the district and 8.8% in the Sleepy Hollow portion of the district.

• "Ding, Dong, The Witch is Dead" intoned one official in announcing that the long discussed County Asphalt Plant had indeed been permanently taken down and removed from its old location. This is a key step toward moving the entire Riverfront project toward completion.

• The Planning Board and the Architectural Review Board are reviewing the Ferry Landings Site Plan, looking at a June 25 deadline for the review to be completed. The June date is the result of an agreement between the Village and National RE/Sources, the developer. Zoning amendments are also being completed for the development.

• The fire department locations decision is being dealt with through the SEQRA (State Environmental Quality Review Act) process and these findings should be available shortly.
