Music Hall Award

What many residents of the river towns don’t realize is that Westchester’s oldest working theatre is the Music Hall in Tarrytown. This year the Westchester Arts Council has acknowledged the Music Hall along with a host of other institutions and individuals.

imagesOn Wednesday, April 11 the Arts Awards will take place at the Rye Town Hilton. The award is the Council’s most prestigious and for the past 30 years has recognized those whose vision, commitment and leadership enrich Westchester, its communities and its citizens.

Bjorn Olsson, the Executive Director of the Music Hall has said, "The honors go to all our benefactors, board members, volunteers and patrons who make every show possible. I would like to extend a special recognition to the Music Hall’s Founding Board Members who had the vision and fortitude to save the theatre from the wrecking ball in 1980. They are Raymond Bowles, the late Mort Epstein, Helen and Berthold Ringeisen."

The Sleepy Hollow Performing Artists will also be acknowledged at the luncheon. For further information or to make reservations to attend the Arts Awards call (914) 428-4220 x 273.
