Sleepy Hollow High School’s Asian American Culture Club hosted an intergenerational celebration of Asian American heritage at Kendal on Hudson on April 24, bringing students and residents together for a lively showcase of traditions from across Asia.
Nine countries—Korea, India, Iran, Pakistan, Japan, Taiwan, China, the Philippines, and Bangladesh—were represented through immersive, student-led exhibits, featuring authentic foods, traditional art and engaging cultural insights.
More than a cultural display, the event sparked meaningful conversations across generations, as students served as presenters, sharing personal connections and perspectives that enriched the experience for attendees.
High School juniors Niva Pandya and Kieran Raghavan directed the program, reflecting a growing commitment among students to celebrate diversity while fostering community connections beyond the classroom.

“At Kendal on Hudson, we are deeply committed to fostering a community rooted in curiosity, inclusivity and lifelong learning,” said Lois DiStefano, Director of Marketing at Kendal on Hudson. “This event not only reflects those values but also creates meaningful opportunities to build connections across cultures and generations.”
By partnering with Kendal on Hudson, the Asian American Culture Club continues its mission of promoting inclusion and understanding, creating a space where culture is not only shared but experienced together.
