The Community Food Pantry of Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown will hold an open house on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 6:30-8 pm.
Come see how 18,000 pounds of food reaches more than 1,000 neighbors every month. Take a tour, hear how other groups support the pantry with donations or food drives, and, if you wish, help pack groceries.
“We hope people will come and be inspired to find their own ways to help,” said Lisa Kosan, president of the pantry’s Board of Directors. “Or talk to volunteers who really look forward to their shifts, whether they’re unloading trucks, sorting canned goods, registering new clients, or helping carry someone’s bags.
“When one in four of our neighbors—the men and women we work with, the children who go to school with our kids—don’t always have enough to eat, we know we’ve got to do more,” she said.
Find us upstairs in the social hall of Christ Church San Marcos, corner of W. Elizabeth and John Streets, Tarrytown.
Light refreshments will be served, and families are welcome.
Please RSVP to eblanton22@gmail.com.
