Ten years after their founding, Rivertown Dance Academy has given more than $300,000 in financial aid to local dancers in need, and they continue to grow to serve our community with more than 300 dancers of all ages taking weekly classes. Founded on a belief that quality dance education should be accessible to all, they offer classes for ages 18 months through adulthood, plus school closure camps and summer programming for ages 3 to 18. In recent years, RDA has expanded accessibility with a new inclusive dance practice for people with or without disabilities to dance together and they continue to build their bilingual outreach to our community.
On September 27, RDA fans and friends will gather to celebrate dance and support RDA’s financial aid program at Silver Fest. The event leans into the party vibe at Silver Pro Music, a recording studio and event venue in Hartsdale, with plenty of glitz and glam. Festivities include a performance featuring professional groups from New York City plus a selection of RDA’s most advanced Repertory students, a cocktail hour including a tasting of fine spirits with Jairo Triguero of Grape Expectations, mystic readings by Linda Demetro of Tarot Mystic, and a tasting menu of Peruvian Latin fusion cuisine by Latusion. The night wraps up with a DJ’d dance party below the disco lights. VIPs enjoy early entrance with a private reception in the lounge, a behind the scenes look at tech rehearsal, specialty food and drink, and reserved seating for the night.
This year, for the first time, kids party, too. A pizza party at Clubhouse Central, a private play space located next door to the main event, offers parents an affordable childcare option.
