Blind Tiger Improv and the Croton Academy of Arts announced the inaugural Rivertowns Improv Fall Festival, taking place October 16–17. Dedicated to celebrating the thriving comedy community across the Hudson Valley, the two-night festival will feature evening performances alongside a full slate of daytime workshops.
The festival will be hosted at the Croton Academy of Arts, located at 8 Old Post Rd. South, Croton-on-Hudson, NY. Headlining the weekend are veteran improv duo The Josh and Tamra Show and Kingston’s premier comedy hub, Hudson Valley Improv. The lineup will also feature Blind Tiger’s three house teams and the Croton Academy of Arts Teen Student Team.
“We’re incredibly excited,” said Michael Short, Artistic Director of Blind Tiger Improv. “An improv festival devoted to the Hudson Valley is something I’ve wanted to do for a long while. The community has finally reached the critical, vibrant level to make such a thing possible.”
Festival organizers are currently accepting submissions from performance groups of all styles, including long-form, short-form, and experimental improvisation. In addition to team slots, applications are open for solo performers and workshop instructors. Acclaimed headliners will also lead a series of public daytime workshops on Saturday, October 17.
Teams, solo acts, and prospective instructors can submit applications directly via the official festival website at rivertownsimprovfallfest.com/.
