Women in Business, Andante Music

Say you have kids. One plays soccer. One plays piano. It’s great to involve your kids in different activities but not so great when their schedules overlap.

imagesSo what can you do? Andante Music has a solution.

Andante Music, headed by Alicia Mott, provides in-home teachers. "I have always traveled to the home and I find that people really like that," said Mott. "It’s so convenient and parents don’t need to be home."

Mott and five additional teachers offer classes in piano, voice, electric and acoustic guitar, electric bass, strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, music theory, composition, and aural training. Mott herself plays and teaches piano, violin, viola, cello, guitar, bass guitar, djembe (an African drum), and voice. Most of the teachers are classically trained and all are professional musicians as well as teachers.

Andante Music also holds an annual recital for all students to participate in; the recital serves as a gift to the students honoring all their hard work and to their parents as well.

Lessons are available throughout Westchester County.

Summer camps, group classes, Master classes, toddler classes and live music bookings are available. For more information, call (914) 255-5096 or email info@andantemusicny.com.
