The Westchester County Office for Women (OFW) will hold its August webinar of the Empower Hour series on Thursday, August 6 from noon to 1 p.m. featuring OFW Acting Director Catherine Borgia and guest, Susan M. Carroll, Esq., Pace Women’s Justice Center Director of Trainings, Outreach and Education. They will talk about best practices for young women (and college students in general) to reduce risks to their personal safety in a variety of settings. They will also cover what’s important to “know before you go,” as well as on-campus and off-campus resources for assistance.
Borgia said: “Thank you to Susan and the Pace Women’s Justice Center for sharing valuable information about how to stay safe on campus as we get set to go back to school. We want all of our students in Westchester, whether they are staying local or traveling far, to have guidelines and resources to ensure a happy and healthy school year.”
Carroll said: “When students get to college, they are bombarded with so many things. Now is an ideal time, as students prepare to begin or continue their college experiences, to reinforce safe habits. Pace Women’s Justice Center is pleased to provide essential personal safety information and resources on and off campus to Westchester parents and students.
