Lucky Leaf Dispensary, Westchester County’s wellness-inspired adult-use cannabis boutique, will host its official grand opening celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Organized in partnership with the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce, the official ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 2:00 PM at the dispensary, located at 50 North Highland Avenue in Ossining. The festivities will run throughout the afternoon, featuring a live DJ, local food trucks, giveaways from neighboring Ossining businesses, and exclusive swag bags for the first 100 customers.
Having opened its doors on April 9, Lucky Leaf Dispensary is redefining the adult-use cannabis retail experience in Westchester County. In just over six months of operation, the dispensary has earned a perfect 5.0-star rating across at least 280 Google reviews, reflecting an overwhelmingly positive response from the local community.
Founded by licensed pharmacist, pharmacy owner, and wellness center owner Mohit Sood, PharmD, Lucky Leaf was created to offer an elevated alternative to the traditional dispensary model—a welcoming, judgment-free space where guests feel comfortable, respected, and empowered to make informed health and lifestyle choices.
A Wellness-Inspired Approach to Cannabis Retail

From its thoughtfully designed interior to its hospitality-driven service model, Lucky Leaf challenges traditional perceptions of cannabis dispensaries. The store features a modern wellness boutique aesthetic, inviting customers to explore curated products at their own pace with guidance from knowledgeable staff.
“We wanted to create something that felt different the moment someone walked through the doors,” said Sood, Founder of Lucky Leaf Dispensary. “A place that feels welcoming, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, where people can ask questions without hesitation. Lucky Leaf is about much more than selling cannabis. It’s about building trust, educating our customers, and creating an experience that makes people genuinely want to come back.”
The inspiration for Lucky Leaf stems from a personal family journey. More than a decade ago, Sood’s father received a stage-four cancer diagnosis. Determined to support their father’s well-being alongside conventional treatment, Sood and his sister, Dr. Monica Sood, explored alternative and complementary modalities. That effort led them to establish a dedicated wellness center. Today, over ten years later, their father is still here—an outcome that deeply reinforced Sood’s commitment to holistic health and patient education. Choosing New York’s legal adult-use market allowed Sood to bring that same ethos of compassionate care and community education to a broader audience.
Investing in Ossining’s Future
Lucky Leaf’s commitment extends beyond its retail footprint. Sood, who also serves as a Director on the Board of the Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce, made substantial investments in redeveloping the property at 50 North Highland Avenue to support the vibrant economic growth of the village.
“I believe in investing in people just as much as investing in a business,” added Sood. “If we can help create opportunities for others while bringing something positive to the community, that’s the kind of lasting impact I want Lucky Leaf to have. Getting Lucky Leaf open took years of determination, but seeing the response from our community has made every challenge worthwhile.”
“We are excited to welcome another entrepreneur who recognizes the potential, diversity, and vibrancy of Ossining. Small businesses are the heartbeat of our local economy, creating opportunities, strengthening connections, and contributing to the unique character of our village” added Greater Ossining Chamber of Commerce President, Althema Goodson.
