In Recognition of Tarrytown…Online Publication Does Disservice

Tarrytown Music Hall I’m a headline skimmer. I skim the headlines of the many forms of media available to us, bookmark the articles I want to go back to and some days feel totally overwhelmed by the mounds of information available to us that I just don’t seem to have enough time to read. So, on this one morning, as I clicked my way through local online news, I was stopped by a headline that seemed to me to be targeting Tarrytown.

The headline sited a store in another Village much north of us that was attracting customers from Tarrytown. I was personally offended. I exchanged several emails with the editor and got nowhere. As past president of the Chamber of Commerce, I felt compelled to write about Tarrytown.

After all, Tarrytown has it all:  shopping, dining, entertainment, hotels, beautiful parks, waterfront, marinas, riverwalks, walking paths, and let’s not forget our historic sites. Wow! All that in one Village.
