Robert Vincent is a 45 year Westchester native; but if there’s one thing he knows more than the community it’s physical well-being. Robert is the owner and operator of Advanced Massage and Bodywork.

Although the business has only been in town for a little over a year, Robert has over 20 years of knowledge and practice in a wide range of services that incorporate: massage therapy, flexibility, and fitness training.

Robert received his massage license from the Swedish Institute in the early 80’s and has accumulated a variety of credentials and experience. In 1987, he received his certification in Fitness Instruction from the American College of Sports Medicine. Robert then began working at a variety of different places in Westchester such as Fitness Systems in White Plains, Altheus in Rye, and the Westchester Country Club. In the 12 years at the Westchester Country Club he worked closely with the Professional Golfers’ Association (PGA) and was the fitness director for the club’s gym. After awhile Robert wanted something more local.

Advanced Massage and Bodywork moved into their Tarrytown facility on North Broadway. “A lot of my clientele are from the area so [the move] was convenient for my clients as well as myself,” says Robert. The move allowed Robert to create a unique and intimate environment for his clientele. “One of the major benefits is that the type of practice that I maintain here is strictly a one-on-one. There is just one treatment area and I only take one appointment at a time…there’s always adequate time before and after appointments; clients are never rushed and the environment is very relaxing.”

Advanced Massage and Bodywork offers a variety of services such as deep tissue massage, core fitness, and hot stone massage. Robert, and his associate Linda Canales, participate in Third Fridays with open-house demonstrations and is available by appointment at 332-4290.
