Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront BID Continues its Jazz and Blues at Dusk Summer Concerts

Yonkers Jazz & Blues at Dusk Summer ConcertsThe Yonkers Downtown Waterfront Business Improvement District (BID) has announced its second weekly Jazz and Blues at Dusk Summer concert at the Yonkers Waterfront amphitheater for this Friday, July 12 at 6:30 pm. The evening will be filled with the brilliant talents of Andrea & James and the AndJam Band, the husband and wife songwriter-performing duo out of New York. The concert series kicked off last Friday, July 5, and proved to be a hot spot in the Yonkers Downtown.

““[Despite the heat] we had a great start last Friday with close to 200 people out to enjoy Curtis Winchester perform,” said Dan Lipka, Executive Director of the Yonkers Downtown Waterfront BID. “We are excited to see what Andrea & James and the AndJam Band bring to us this week.”

Andrea & James Rohlehr have free lanced and worked as a team with several New York music orchestras (767’s, Steven Scott, Lester Lanin), as well as with The Bertelsmann World of Expression Scholarship Program and Young Audiences/New York as Artist in residency. They have also worked as facilitators for songwriting workshops for the NY city K-12 students which culminated as CD projects. Andrea and James are the winners of the 1997 President’s Award for Excellency in songwriting by renowned songwriter George David Weiss and The Songwriter’s Guild of America/New York.

The Yonkers Downtown/Waterfront Business Improvement District was created to promote and implement the economic revitalization of the District and the City of Yonkers. The BID is also designed to maintain the downtown streets, contribute to public safety, landscape the district, market special events and create promotional opportunities to highlight the area.
