From the Sound Shore to the Hudson, from Yonkers to Yorktown, there are Westchester County parks to enjoy in every season. The following are the Nature Center events for the weekend of November 9 & 10, 2013.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 9

Calling All Birds – 10 a.m.
Learn how to identify birds by their call.

Edith G. Read Wildlife Sanctuary, Playland Park, Rye

Volunteer Work Corps Day – 10 a.m.
Bring work gloves and help with maintenance projects at the sanctuary.

Trailside Nature Museum at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River – (914) 864-7322
Campfire Cooking – 10:30 a.m.
Learn how to cook delicious meals over a campfire. Pre-registration required.

Volunteer Work Project: Clearing Stone Walls of Debris – 1 – 3 p.m.
Bring work gloves; hand tools provided.

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 10

Low Tide Walk – 9:30 a.m.
Explore the geology, ecology and history of the lower Hudson River.

Learn how to survive in the wild by learning basic skills.
