Sleepy Hollow’s Brayden Richardson Named New York Jets High School Player of the Week

Sleepy Hollow High School senior Brayden Richardson has been named the New York Jets High School Player of the Week, presented by Gatorade.

Each week during the 2025 high school football season, the New York Jets and Gatorade recognize one outstanding player from the tri-state area for exceptional performance, leadership, and sportsmanship on the field. As part of the honor, Richardson’s achievement comes with a $1,000 donation from the Jets and Gatorade to support the Sleepy Hollow High School football program.

Richardson earned the recognition following a dominant performance in Sleepy Hollow’s recent road victory over Putnam Valley. The standout running back rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns on just 13 carries and added a 92-yard punt return for a score—totaling four touchdowns in the Horsemen’s decisive 42–10 win.

As part of the honor, Richardson will be recognized on-field at MetLife Stadium during the New York Jets vs. Miami Dolphins game on December 7, where all weekly award recipients will be celebrated.

The Horsemen recently closed out the regular season on a high note, defeating Edgemont 43–6 on Senior Night. Sleepy Hollow finished the season with an impressive 7–1 record and is now locked in and ready for what’s next as postseason play begins.
