Sean Taggart, “Tribulation 2025”

Sean Taggart, known for his classic album covers and flyers for such bands as Agnostic Front and Cro Mags, turns his hardcore sensibilities to an interpretation of current events in Tribulation 2025, opening November 14 at Upstream Gallery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
Tribulation 2025 will feature the 6-foot-by-12-foot triptych “Altar for the End of Days”—a painting that is simultaneously a prediction, a warning, and an expression of the artist’s fury. Also on display will be a selection of Taggart’s “Tapestries of Terror,” oversized paintings on paper that invoke both the wheat-pasted political posters of New York City and the codified political narratives of historical tapestries such as those on view at the Met Cloisters.
Sean Taggart has exhibited at WaterFire Arts Center (Providence, RI), McCaig-Welles Gallery and Bushwick Art Project (Brooklyn, NY), and 212ARTS and Exit Art Gallery (New York City), among many other venues. His painting was featured during his interview in the Sony Pictures Classics documentary film, American Hardcore.
Tribulation 2025 will be on view from November 14–December 7, 2025, at Upstream Gallery, 8 Main Street, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY.
Opening reception Friday, November 14, 6:00–9:00 p.m.
