Friends of Kensico Cemetery, along with the employees, officers, and directors of The Kensico Cemetery, will hold a commemorative service on Friday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m., marking 25 years since the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and honoring the victims, families, and survivors.
The service will take place at the Kensico Tower entrance on Grasslands Road, adjacent to the cemetery’s dedicated 9/11 Memorial. The ceremony will include remarks, a wreath placement, and a moment of remembrance.
“Twenty-five years ago, we planted two red oaks to commemorate the strength, resilience, and endurance of this nation,” said Chester S. Day, Chairman of the Board of the Friends of Kensico Cemetery. “Today, we return to that same ground to remember what was lost and honor the unity that carried us through it.”
