After serving four years as Village Trustee and now Deputy Mayor, I’m running for Mayor of Irvington as the Democratic candidate because I have the experience and vision needed to move Irvington forward with fiscal responsibility and community engagement. I’m ready to serve as Mayor on day one.
Here are key priorities and accomplishments I’ll continue to advance as Mayor:
Unlocking Grant Funding
With the Village Board, I helped secure $7 million in grant funding for local infrastructure, including flood mitigation and EV chargers. This outside funding reduces reliance on property taxes and eases the burden on single-family homeowners. I also helped launch a resident-led committee to reimagine our aging village facilities. As Mayor, I will ensure its work leads to an outcome that keeps long-term costs down.
Delivering Fiscal Responsibility
For four consecutive years, I’ve helped deliver budgets within the tax cap while funding essential services. As Mayor, to ensure clarity and transparency, I’ll launch a resident-led budget review committee to give the community a direct voice in the budget.
Making Government User-Friendly
To improve the building permitting process, I helped establish a resident-led committee now working with experts to make the process simpler and home renovations easier. As Mayor, I will ensure local government is more user-friendly.
Championing Sustainability
My leadership helped Irvington earn a Climate Smart Communities Silver Certification, unlocking grant funding for climate-resilient infrastructure. I’ve also helped secure grants to protect and restore the Irvington Woods. I’ll continue making sustainable investments as Mayor.
A Welcoming Village
I’ve worked with the Board to open Matthiessen Park to leashed dogs and create inspiring community events with local businesses like the Bulldog Gallery. I also partnered with the Police Department to address security concerns during the Iran-Israel conflict and helped draft the Board’s resolution opposing antisemitism. My commitment: to ensure Irvington remains safe and inclusive.
Professional Background
After graduating from Yale University and Harvard Law School, I’ve spent over 28 years as an attorney. I’m an equity partner at a Manhattan-based law firm, where I manage a legal practice specializing in complex corporate and tax matters and the firm’s business operations.
My experience on the Board includes serving as liaison to numerous village departments and committees, including the Police Department, Department of Public Works, Water Department, Housing Committee, Parks and Recreation, the Woods Committee, the Green Policy Taskforce, and the Rivertowns Chamber of Commerce.
I have strong relationships with elected officials at all levels of government, including Congressman George Latimer and NYS Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, whose endorsements I’ve proudly received.
