Irvington Middle School students recently took a break from their screens and focused on self-care during the school’s annual wellness event, Unplug: What’s Your Outlet. Designed to promote well-being, the event encouraged the students to engage in meaningful screen-free activities with their peers.

The students chose three of eight stations, each offering a different way to relax and recharge during their lunch period. Activities included board games, dancing, puzzle-solving, hula-hooping, jump rope and coloring.

Organized by the IMS Character Building/SEL/CR-SE Committee in collaboration with students in the Bulldog Planning Club, the event highlighted the importance of finding healthy outlets – physically, emotionally, socially, spiritually and mentally. Members of the newly formed Bulldog Event Planning Club worked with committee members to facilitate the stations while students from the National Junior Honor Society helped build excitement by visiting homerooms in advance to promote participation.

Special thanks to Irvington PTSA for their support of the event.
