Congressman Pat Ryan Endorses Cait Conley for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District

Congressman Pat Ryan (D-NY-18) endorsed Cait Conley for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District.

“Cait Conley has spent her life answering the call to serve — in uniform and in some of the toughest national security roles our country has,” said Congressman Ryan. “Like me, she’s a Hudson Valley native who understands this community because it’s home. Throughout her career, Cait has led with courage, integrity, and a deep sense of responsibility to the American people. She’s exactly the kind of fighter New York’s 17th District needs and she’s the strongest candidate in this race to defeat Mike Lawler. That’s why I’m proud to endorse her in this race, and I look forward to working alongside her in Congress to make the Hudson Valley more affordable, more safe, and more free.”

“I’m incredibly honored to earn the support of Congressman Pat Ryan — a fellow West Point grad, Army veteran, and Hudson Valley native,” said NY-17 Democratic candidate Cait Conley. “Congressman Ryan and I both know what it means to put your life on the line for this country and take on missions where failure isn’t an option. He didn’t take an oath to a party, he took it to the American people, and he’s lived up to that responsibility every single day in Congress, fighting tooth and nail to deliver real results for Hudson Valley working families. That’s the type of leadership New York’s 17th deserves and it’s why I’m running — to bring that same battle-tested leadership to Washington and fight for the Hudson Valley families Mike Lawler has left behind.”

Congressman Ryan’s endorsement comes on the heels of local endorsements earlier this week from the Lewisboro Democratic Committee and Michael Dupree, Chair of the Dutchess County Democratic Committee. Cait has also received notable endorsements from former NY-17 candidate Jessica Reinmann, Lewisboro Town Councilwoman Julia Hadlock, Pound Ridge Supervisor Kevin Hansan, Cortlandt Town Supervisor Dr. Richard Becker, Village of Haverstraw Trustee Richard Sena, Patterson Town Councilwoman Gwen Dougherty, as well as national Democratic organizations like VoteVets, The Next 50, Majority Democrats, and New Politics.
