Sixteen year old Lyndsey Minerva has already garnered an impressive resume for someone of her age. To add onto her long list of successes, the Pocantico Hills resident has been named one of the featured acts for St. Christopher’s spring gala, St. Christopher’s Got Talent, on April 4 at The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College.
St. Christopher’s, Inc. is a local organization dedicated to helping children with special needs and their families. “Lyndsey has the whole package – voice, personality, love for music, and passion,” said Eric Lebenson, Chief Development Officer at St. Christopher’s. “We are thrilled to have the support from not only her, but her entire family, as we look to make a difference in the lives of the children and families St. Christopher’s serves. Attendees are going to be blown away by her performance.”
Lyndsey actively auditions and participates in musical theater workshops in New York City, and has been fortunate enough to work with Broadway artists, including Jessie Mueller. She’s played key roles, such as, Tinkerbell in Disney’s Peter Pan, Jr.; The Bird Woman in Disney’s Mary Poppins, Jr.; Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, Jr.; and Mrs. Tottendale in The Drowsy Chaperone. In 2015, Lyndsey was awarded one of the Ten Best Individual Female Performers at the 2015 Junior Theater Festival in Atlanta for her role as Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray, Jr. Throughout the festival, students participated in workshops with Broadway and theater professionals from around the nation.
Lyndsey is the youngest of five children. She volunteers as a church choir member and a weekly cantor for her parish. Along with her passion for theater, Lyndsey is also an All-League and All-Section soccer player at Pleasantville High School. Premier talent will perform at St. Christopher’s Got Talent from 7- 8:30 pm, including The Archbishop Stepinac High School Drama Club who will preview its spring show, The Hunchback of Notre Dame; Michael Minarik, Broadway performer most recently seen in Les Miserables and Matilda; Daniel Nicholas, magician & mentalist; Noteworthy from Briarcliff High School; Aaron Parkhurst from Broadway Dance Center in New York City; Beverly Lopez, who recently performed at the Harlem School of the Arts in Harlem Voices and the off-Broadway production, Bountiful; and Larger Than Life, the ultimate boyband tribute group. More performers will be announced.
Esteemed WHUD radio personality, Kacey Morabito, will emcee the event. Performances will be preceded by a cocktail hour and followed by a reception for all guests. More details can be viewed at www.stchristophersinc.org/gottalent
