Meet Kaiju!
Kaiju is a 4-year-old, 60-pound purebred mutt, born in Mississippi, adopted in Connecticut, and raised in Ossining, NY.
Like his fellow kaijus, Godzilla and Mothra, our Kaiju is a destroyer of things. Lucky for us, he limits his destruction to “indestructible” toys that perish in less than 5 minutes – Tokyo remains safe (this time).
This dog is baby’s best friend. His nearly 2-year-old human brother is obsessed with him, getting more excited when Kaiju enters his nursery after naptime than when his parents do. As a true family dog, Kaiju has endured horsey rides, loving toddler ear tugs, and endless baby cuddles with patience and genuine enjoyment.
Kaiju has the most soulful eyes, so when he rests his chin on your knee during meals and stares up at you, it’s impossible to resist sharing your food
When Kaiju first started attending doggy daycare as a puppy, the staff said they’d never seen a dog run and play without stopping for a full 8 hours like he did. Four years later, his energy level hasn’t dimmed. But once the sun goes down, he’s nothing but a floppy snugglebug, wanting only to wedge himself on the couch between his mommy and daddy.
Kaiju is honored to be a River Journal Pet of the Month, and he promises not to let it go to his soft head.
