The Town of Yorktown encourages residents to transform some of this weekend’s snowfall into front lawn sculpture.

Yorktown’s Snowman Making Contest challenges artists of all ages to embrace the frost and transform their front yards into galleries of icy art.

“We want to see Yorktown’s lawns filled with personality,” said Supervisor Ed Lachterman. “This contest is a fantastic way for families to get outdoors, work together, and show off our community’s incredible spirit.”

The competition focuses on innovation and imagination. The judges are looking for unique and creative interpretations of snow art. Whether it’s a snow-animal, a favorite character, or an abstract masterpiece, the most creative entry will take home a special prize.

How to Enter

Residents have three ways to submit their chilly creations:

1. Social Media: Post a photo of your snowman on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #yorktownsnowmancontest2026.

2. Direct Message: Send your entry via DM to the Town of Yorktown’s official social media accounts.

3. Email: Send your photo directly to YPR@yorktownny.gov.

Required Information: All entries must include the sculptors’ names and the official name of the creation.
