Westchester Parks Foundation (WPF) hosted employees of Fujifilm Holdings America Corporation, Fujifilm North America Corporation and Fujifilm Healthcare Americas Corporation for a cleanup and beautification day at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla and along the adjacent Bronx River Reservation.
Fujifilm volunteers collected litter along these sites, with a special focus on the Bronx River Reservation, which celebrated its 100th anniversary this year. This effort aimed to reduce the amount of trash entering the Bronx River and improve the health of the river’s ecosystem and its inhabitants. Together 27 volunteers helped preserve the beauty and vitality of these important regional sites.
At the event, Kenya Nakashima, President of Fujifilm Holdings America Corporation, presented the WPF with a $7,500 donation on behalf of the company and its employees to help in the organization’s mission to advocate for and invest in the preservation, conservation, use, and enjoyment of the Westchester County Parks system. Fujifilm has supported the WPF for 24 years.
“Giving back to our communities is the embodiment of Fujifilm’s group purpose of ‘giving our world more smiles”, said Kenya Nakashima, President of Fujifilm Holdings America Corporation. “Our parks and open spaces are vital to our quality of life, and we’re thrilled to support the work of the WPF.”
