Tech Angels to Offer Free Tech Help to Seniors

Tech Angel Joshua Topf

The Tech Angels are an organization that Joshua Topf, a junior at Edgemont High School in Scarsdale started in the winter of last year. He and other students volunteer their time helping senior citizens with their technological struggles. The idea first came to Joshua while he was helping his grandfather with his computer, and it occurred to him that there are most likely many other senior citizens who have similar troubles, but might not have a child or grandchild readily available or willing to help them. As a result, Joshua and a few friends volunteered their time all last year at the Theodore D. Young community center, every other weekend, and each session they had numerous seniors come in, all of whom they were able to help with whatever problems they had.

Moving forwards, they are planning on being at the Theodore D Young Community Center, from 1030am -12pm, on October 19th, November 2nd, November 16th, December 7th, and December 21st. Extra sessions may be held at Edgemont Jr/Sr High School. If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions please contact him at jtopf.student.edgemont.org.
