Northwell Walk to Raise Health Set for May 18

With the Northwell Walk to Raise Health just weeks away, sponsor King Quality Roofing and Siding is calling on Westchester County residents to sign up, raise funds, and lace up their walking shoes for the annual event on Sunday, May 18 at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow.

The Northwell Walk to Raise Health at Westchester, one of five walk locations across New York, benefits Phelps Hospital and Northern Westchester Hospital. At Phelps Hospital, funds will support the Westchester Community Paramedicine program, which expands healthcare access to homebound seniors and other vulnerable members of the community.

“At Phelps Hospital, we’re deeply grateful for the support of our community and partners like King Quality,” said Beata Mastalerz, president of Phelps Hospital. “Funds raised through the walk will directly support our Community Paramedicine program, helping us bring high-quality care into the homes of our most vulnerable neighbors. Every step taken on May 18 moves us closer to a healthier Westchester.”

At Northern Westchester Hospital, donations will go to innovative behavioral health programs to support the emotional wellbeing of children and adolescents across Westchester.

“We’re proud to be part of a movement that puts the mental and emotional health of our youth at the forefront,” said Derek Anderson, president of Northern Westchester Hospital. “Thanks to the generosity of walkers and supporters, like King Quality, we can continue expanding behavioral health programs that meet the needs of children and teens across our region.”

Adults can register with a $20 donation, while children under 14 can participate for free. Participants can join solo or as part of a team, set personal fundraising goals, and collect donations from friends, family, and community members. Walkers will enjoy an impactful opening ceremony, supported walk routes, live music, interactive health-related booths, kids’ activities, and more. As a thank you for participating, King Quality will be giving away free King Quality hoodies to walkers while supplies last.

“We’re honored to support the Northwell Walk to Raise Health in Westchester,” said King Quality CEO Jeff Brett. “It’s a great way for the community to come together, get active, and support high-quality health care here in our area. We encourage everyone to join the walk and help raise health.”

Since the walk began 15 years ago, it has raised more than $8 million for local hospitals and programs. Last year, more than 6,000 walkers participated across five locations throughout the state.
