In celebration of Children’s Book Week, the Sleepy Hollow Bookshop is inviting families to join in a week of giving and community fun, all centered around the joy of reading.
“This week is all about honoring the power of books to spark imagination and build lifelong readers,” said Leah Bloom, owner of the Sleepy Hollow Bookshop. “We’re excited to welcome families into the shop, give back to the community, and celebrate the stories that shape childhood.”
From now until Sunday, May 11, the shop will be collecting gently used children’s and young adult books to donate to local organizations serving kids and teens. Families can bring in up to 5 gently used books and receive $5 off a purchase of $25 or more (limit one discount per family).
On Saturday, May 10, the Sleepy Hollow Bookshop is teaming up with the Sleepy Hollow Ambulance Corps for a special community celebration, featuring EMS story time, ambulance tours, face painting, book giveaways, free drinks, and volunteer information. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public.
