The Ossining Public Library is pleased to announce the installation of outdoor materials pickup lockers for the convenience of our patrons. The lockers were made possible by a $30,000 New York State grant that was secured for the library by Assemblymember Dana Levenberg.
“The lockers, which are available for use 24/7, make it possible for patrons to check out and pick up library materials before and after library hours, making library service even more accessible,” said Karen LaRocca-Fels, Director of the Ossining Public Library. “We are grateful for the funding provided to us through Assemblymember Levenberg’s office that helped us make this a possibility for our patrons.”
“Public libraries are among the most important community resources we have, connecting people to information and opportunity,” said Assemblymember Levenberg. “I’m proud to have secured funding to help the Ossining Public Library make library materials even more accessible. These new pickup lockers mean that everyone—from busy parents to late-shift workers—can enjoy OPL’s resources at the times that work best for them.”
“We are delighted to provide this new and innovative pick-up option for our patrons,” said Ossining Public Library Board of Trustees President Meghan Huppuch.
Using the locker is easy: When placing a hold in the library’s online catalog, patrons can choose “Ossining Locker” as the pickup location. When they receive notification that the hold is ready, they need to go to the locker, scan or enter their library card and PIN, and the locker with the hold will pop open. Patrons will get confirmation of the number of items that were checked out from the locker.
