Northwell’s Phelps Hospital has unveiled a new, dedicated site for its advanced Neurosurgery & Spine at Phelps practice. Located at 755 North Broadway, Suite 540, in Sleepy Hollow — on the hospital’s campus — the nearly 2,600-square-foot suite offers expanded access to comprehensive neurosurgical and spine care for the community.

The new space features four exam rooms equipped with the latest technology, enabling the expert neurosurgical team to provide advanced surgical and non-surgical treatments for a wide range of conditions. These include complex brain aneurysms, brain and spinal cord tumors, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and various spinal disorders. Patients benefit from a multidisciplinary approach, with specialists coordinating care from evaluation and diagnosis through surgery and post-operative rehabilitation.

“This new location reflects the significant growth of our neurosurgery program at Phelps Hospital and our enhanced capability to care for the most complex conditions,” said David Gordon, MD, chair of neurosurgery at Phelps and Northern Westchester hospitals. “The streamlined setting allows us greater flexibility to efficiently evaluate and treat patients in a timely manner, ensuring they receive the highest quality care and can return to their lives as quickly as possible.”

The easily accessible location and increased capacity of the new site address the growing community demand for specialized neurosurgical care closer to home. The practice offers sub-specialized expertise in brain, spine, and skull base oncology, spine surgery, and vascular neurosurgery, as well as access to gamma knife radiosurgery — the only such technology in Westchester County.

“The opening of this neurosurgery suite exemplifies Northwell’s broader strategy to expand access to highly specialized care across the Hudson Valley” said David Seligman, SVP and deputy market president at Northwell Health. “We’re reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for expert neurosurgical care — and that’s a meaningful step toward greater health equity across Westchester.”

As an Advanced Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center, Phelps leads the way in providing cutting-edge stroke care. The new Neurosurgery & Spine site complements Phelps’ advanced stroke capabilities by offering a dedicated space for consultations, follow-up care and other neurosurgical needs.

“The opening of this dedicated neurosurgery suite represents a significant milestone for Phelps Hospital and reinforces our dedication to elevating specialty care in the region,” said Beata Mastalerz, RN, president of Phelps Hospital. “This investment will expand access to life-changing treatments, improve continuity of care and enhance the patient experience, reflecting our commitment to meeting the evolving health needs of the communities we are proud to serve.”
