The Weir to Open at The Hudson Valley Writers Center

In a pub in rural Ireland, a few locals are enjoying a pint and a bit of gossip when their evening is interrupted by the arrival of an attractive stranger from Dublin, Valerie. As the night darkens and the liquor flows, each character shares a tale of local, ghostly happenings.

But what begins as good fun becomes genuine fright when Valerie reveals what has truly brought her to their town and how the past continues to haunt her.

Produced by Hudson Valley’s own Lovely Calamity Theatrical Productions and opening just in time for Saint Patrick’s Day, The Weir has its roots in the traditions of Irish folklore and retains its sense of humor even as it wades into the dark, thematic waters of grief and loss.
