The Taghkanic Chorale will perform its Modern Masters concerts on May 10-11 at Irvington Presbyterian Church, 25 North Broadway, both at 4 pm.
The program features the power and beauty of 20th- and 21st-Century choral masterpieces led by Maurice Duruflé’s luminous Requiem, and Benjamin Britten’s visionary Rejoice in the Lamb. Complimenting these are works from prominent American composers Gwyneth Walker, Elaine Hagenberg and Robert Cohen.
“This is transcendent music that showcases the depth and innovation of modern choral artistry,” says Jason Tramm, the Chorale’s music director. “We’re thrilled to be accompanied by Craig Williams, renowned organist for the Cadet Chapel at West Point.”
General admission tickets are $25. Seniors: $22. Students: $12. Children under 12 with an adult: free. They can be purchased from a Taghkanic member, online at https://taghkanicchoraleS25.rsvpify.com or in person at the concert.
Following each performance, audiences are invited to stay for a wine and snack reception. The concerts will be livestreamed for those unable to attend in person.
