Reverend Horton Heat with Special Guests Brings Psychobilly Fire to Peekskill

Reverend Horton Heat, with special guests Black Joe Lewis and Piñata Protest, is bringing his high-octane brand of psychobilly fire and country-blues-rock revival to the Paramount Hudson Valley stage on Saturday, April 11 at 7 pm, for what promises to be a transformative live experience.

Led by “time-travelling space-cowboy,” Jim Heath fans expect flames off guitars, and a show that feels like a futuristic 1950s exploitation film. With Jimbo Wallace incinerating the stand-up bass and the Rev channeling icons from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins to Buddy Holly, their music injects “pure musical nitrous into the hot-rod engine of your heart,” powering through tracks like “Big Sky,” “400 Bucks,” and “Psychobilly Freakout.”

Black Joe Lewis, a stone-cold original whose gut-bucket blues guitar and raw, powerful voice have made him one of the last true torchbearers of the garage-soul explosion. His live performances land in the explosive spaces once occupied by James Brown, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and the MC5, honed over years of sharing the stage with icons such as Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, Cedric Burnside, and The Dirtbombs.

Opening the night is the San Antonio-born Piñata Protest, an accordion-powered Tex-Mex punk rock force known for fusing the lively rhythms of the Mexican button accordion with high-energy punk attitude.
