Letter to the Editor: Thank You to Tarrytown & Irvington Voters

I would like to thank residents of the Tarrytown & Irvington for re-electing me to another term as Greenburgh Town Supervisor. I’m excited about the next two years and hope to be responsive to the community. I plan to hold Town Hall meetings in each of the villages during the next two years . Although the town portion of your taxes is less than 3% of your entire tax bill – it’s important that residents of the villages understand how the town spends the $26.83 million in the budget reserved for town services.

For residents of the villages most municipal services are provided by the villages within Greenburgh. However, the town offers advance life support services to the villages. We also deliver over 30,000 meals a year to seniors- many who reside in the villages.

The town has a recreation program for developmentally disabled residents and we run the animal control division-assisting injured or stray animals.

Greenburgh also has a civil defense unit which provides services during natural disasters and other events. And we have a highly specialized and equipped SWAT team available 24/7 to respond to emergencies.

The town also has a road striping unit that stripes  village roads and crosswalks. We collect all taxes for the schools and county- and guarantees 100% of the taxes to both entities. The town clerk’s office issues dog licenses, marriage licenses, cabaret licenses and manages all vital records. The assessor assesses property values, and the sewer department responds to calls for services for sewer emergencies. The Theodore Young Community Center has an indoor pool and numerous programs.

Feel free to call me anytime. My cell is 914 438 1343.
