Westchester County Parks will begin accepting group picnic reservations for the 2026 season on Friday, January 2. Reservations may be made by calling the Parks Department’s Permit Office at (914) 231-4575, Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “I encourage residents to start planning their warm-weather gatherings early. Our parks offer an incredible variety of spaces for celebrations of all kinds. From playgrounds and ballfields to beaches and pools, families and friends can enjoy time together in some of the most beautiful settings in the region.”
Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation Kathy O’Connor said, “Demand for summer weekends is especially high and many of our picnic areas and pavilions are reserved quickly as soon as booking opens. To secure your first choice of location and date, we strongly recommend making your plans as early as possible.”
Reserving picnic areas, including under outdoor pavilions, is allowed at these parks:
- Blue Mountain Reservation, Peekskill
- Croton Gorge, Cortlandt
- Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson
- George’s Island Park, Montrose
- Glen Island Park, New Rochelle
- Kensico Dam Plaza, Valhalla
- Ridge Road Park, Hartsdale
- Saxon Woods Park, White Plains
- Sprain Ridge Park, Yonkers
- Tibbetts Brook Park, Yonkers
- V.E. Macy Park, Ardsley
- Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Cross River
- Willson’s Woods Park, Mount Vernon
