Bulldog Gallery Statues Looking For Their Forever Homes

2025 Bulldog Bullish with its artist Kristina Schmidt and her family

After spending the summer brightening Irvington’s streets, the Bulldog Gallery’s beloved statues are ready to be “adopted”. These whimsical, hand-decorated bulldogs, created by local artists of all ages, are now up for auction. It’s your chance to give one of these lovable pups a forever home while supporting local artists and future public art projects in Irvington.

Throughout the summer, fiberglass bulldogs—Irvington’s trusty mascot—were transformed into one-of-a-kind works of art. Each bulldog tells a story, filled with creativity, community pride, and the heart of the town.

“Every statue is unique, designed by talented artists who poured their imagination into it,” said Kristina Schmidt, “Some celebrate Irvington’s landmarks, some showcase our food and culture, and others are pure art, fun, and craft. Together, they’re a playful, joyful pack waiting to be welcomed home.”

The online auction opens Saturday, September 20, at 8:00 PM and closes Saturday, September 27, at 8:00 PM, at https://bulldogauction.cbo.io. Each sculpture is weatherproof, impact-resistant, and comes with a starting bid of $500—so finding your perfect bulldog match is within reach.

For the first time, the Bulldog Gallery introduces a People’s Choice Award, where the community decides the winners. Cast your votes in five categories—Best Overall Design, Most Artistic, Fan Favorite, Most Extravagant, and Best Youth Design—from September 7 through September 26 at https://form.typeform.com/to/IMrvlks8.

Fans of the bulldogs can also chip in to support future art projects through the auction site.

“Last year’s generosity helped us grow the collection and make the project even more exciting,” Schmidt said. “This year, we can’t wait to see where our bulldogs end up and whose homes they’ll brighten.”

Before the bulldogs head off to their forever homes, you can meet the full “pack” in person at Rocktoberfest on Saturday, September 27, at 2 PM, at Matthiessen Park, an event full of music, food, and fun.
