Productions filmed in Westchester County earned a combined 31 nominations across the 2026 Golden Globe and Critics Choice Awards, reaffirming the County’s standing as one of the region’s most in-demand destinations for film and television production. Spanning categories from Best Motion Picture to top Acting, Directing and Series honors, this year’s recognition showcases Westchester County’s continued role as a creative anchor for some of the year’s top film and television projects.
A Standout Season for Westchester-Filmed Productions
This season’s nominations reflect the versatility of Westchester’s communities. From rural farms and modernist architecture in northern Westchester to river towns along the Hudson, the Art Deco gems of Westchester County Center and Playland, and the urban and suburban landscapes stretching to Long Island Sound, the County’s range of cinematic looks played a pivotal role in bringing these stories to life.
Leading the slate is “Marty Supreme” (A24), which filmed at Playland and the Westchester County Center. The film earned major recognition across both awards, including Critics Choice nominations for Best Picture, Best Actor (Timothée Chalamet), Best Director (Josh Safdie), and multiple craft categories, along with Golden Globe nods for Best Motion Picture, Best Screenplay, and Chalamet’s performance.
Westchester continued its strong showing in prestige television:
- “The Diplomat” (Netflix), which filmed extensively at the Sundial Farm in Ossining, secured Critics Choice and Golden Globe nominations including Best Drama Series and Best Actress (Keri Russell).
- “Elsbeth” (CBS), filmed at Westchester Community College, the Michaelian Office Building in White Plains and Yonkers City Hall, among other locations, earned Critics Choice recognition for best comedy series and acting honors for Carrie Preston.
- “The Gilded Age” (HBO Max) filmed throughout the County, including at Lyndhurst in Tarrytown, Manhattanville College in Purchase, and the historic Jacob Purdy House in White Plains. The production earned Critics Choice nominations for Carrie Coon and Denée Benton.
- “Poker Face” (Peacock), filmed at The Armour-Stiner Octagon House in Irvington and locations in Somers and Tarrytown during its Westchester shoot, secured both Critics Choice and Golden Globe nominations for Natasha Lyonne’s performance.
- “Severance” (Apple TV+), filmed at Pleasantville’s Usonia community, Trinity Lutheran Church in White Plains, and wooded areas throughout central Westchester, earned Golden Globe nominations for Best TV Series and performances by Britt Lower, Adam Scott, and Tramell Tillman.
Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Seeing 31 Golden Globe and Critics Choice nominations tied to productions filmed here in Westchester speaks volumes to the creative value our County brings to filmmakers. Our communities offer an incredible range of looks and on-the-ground support, making Westchester one of the most production-ready destinations in the region.”
Director of Westchester County Tourism & Film Natasha Caputo added: “We’re proud to see so many nominated productions choose Westchester as their backdrop. Filmmakers trust our locations, landscapes and neighborhoods to elevate their stories, and these nominations reflect Westchester’s growing role in today’s entertainment landscape.”
