The Village is in the midst of working through its process in accordance with Governor Cuomo’s executive order 203 – NYS Police Reform & Reinvention Collaborative. To assist our work and as a part developing the Village’s plan to continue to improve the Tarrytown Police Department, the Village is seeking input from its residents in various ways. As such, we are launching Tarrytown’s first ever Police “Community Survey”, which will help guide decision-making and necessary improvements to our Police Operations/Programming. All survey responses are due by Friday, December 11, 2020 at 4pm.
The survey will assess five key components that involve the Tarrytown Police Department; 1. Community Involvement; 2. Safety; 3. Procedural Justice; 4. Performance; 5. Contact & Satisfaction.
To-date, Tarrytown has received 700 responses to the survey and they expect the number to continue to rise as they recently mailed postcards to all addresses in Tarrytown Village. Those postcards started hitting mailboxes Saturday 11/28 and should continue to be received throughout the week.
The survey link is provided below and should take about five to ten minutes of your time. The survey will be provided both in English and in Spanish. We ask that one person per household/business take the survey.

El pueblo está trabajando en el proceso de acuerdo con la orden ejecutiva 203 del Gobernador Cuomo – Colaborativa de Reforma y Reinvención de la Policía del Estado de Nueva York. Para ayudar en nuestro trabajo y como parte del desarrollo del plan del pueblo para continuar mejorando el Departamento de Policía de Tarrytown, El pueblo busca la opinión de sus residentes de varias maneras. Como tal, estamos lanzando la primera “Encuesta Comunitaria” de la Policía de Tarrytown, que ayudará a guiar la toma de decisiones y las mejoras necesarias en nuestras Operaciones / Programación de la Policía. Todas las respuestas a la encuesta vencen antes del viernes 11 de diciembre de 2020 a las 4 p.m.
