Jane’s Walk Ossining to Host Free Weekend of Community Walks May 1–3 as Part of Celebrate Ossining 250

Residents and visitors are invited to explore the history, neighborhoods, and stories of Ossining during Jane’s Walk Ossining, a free weekend of guided community walks taking place May 1–3 as part of Celebrate Ossining 250.

Inspired by the global Jane’s Walk movement, the event encourages people to discover the places they live through walking conversations that highlight history, design, culture, and community life. This year marks a milestone for the region, as Ossining hosts the first Jane’s Walk in Westchester County.

The weekend will feature four unique walks led by local historians and community leaders:

Friday, May 1
• History of Campwoods Grounds — 6:30 PM

Sunday, May 3
• Downtown Ossining: Past, Present & Future — 11:00 AM
• Dale Cemetery Heritage Trail: Special Edition — 1:00 PM
• Sparta Historic District Tour — 1:00 PM

From historic districts and civic landmarks to preservation efforts and neighborhood stories, the walks offer participants an engaging way to experience what makes Ossining unique.

“Jane’s Walk is about seeing communities through fresh eyes and connecting with the people and stories that shape them,” said Brian Granoff, Organizer, Jane’s Walk Ossining. “We’re proud to bring that spirit to Ossining during this special anniversary year.”

All walks are free and open to the public.
