New York State Senator Pete Harckham is joined by members of the City of Peekskill Common Council and the Peekskill Fire Department to inspect the recently arrived critical battery-operated emergency response equipment, which was purchased with a $50,000 grant that Harckham secured through the State Senate’s Community Resiliency, Economic Sustainability, and Technology (CREST) Program.

The Peekskill Fire Department’s new equipment included hydraulic rescue tools, thermal imaging cameras, portable scene lighting and high-speed ventilation fans. The new gear reduces emissions and improves safety for both firefighters and residents.
