First Annual Centaur Summer Festival at Rockefeller State Park Preserve

To kick off the summer season, The Friends of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve and The Westchester Horse Council, will host their first annual Centaur Summer Festival on Saturday, June 27, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rockwood Hall Section of the Rockefeller State Park Preserve.

The event will bring together equestrians, runners and residents of surrounding communities for a day of fun overlooking the Hudson River in Sleepy Hollow. The day will feature, in addition to a 10K race and a horse training audit and clinic, delicious food, a variety of vendors, live music, raffles, children’s games and prizes, face painting, and pony and hay rides.

Proceeds from the Festival will benefit trail maintenance at the Preserve. In case of torrential rain, the Festival will be held the next day, Sunday, June 28, during the same hours.

Parking will be provided at the New York Life lot next to Phelps Memorial Hospital at 1 Rockwood Road, with a parking fee of $5 per vehicle.
