Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester Celebrated the Spirit of the Season

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester’s Tarrytown Center celebrated the spirit of the season with their annual Holiday Party on December 21, 2007.

imagesDinner was served and each Club member, K-12th grade, received a gift to unwrap from the Club. Remaining gifts were given to those families who are especially in need.

In June 2006, the Tarrytown Center nearly closed its doors due to increased financial burden. The Center, which opened in 2002 at the Community Opportunity Center, serves approximately 600 children from low-income families. It provides a safe place to go after school, a warm meal, guiding hands, and a positive experience for its members. This year, employees from Starwood Hotels & Resorts have provided gifts for the 88 children in the Center’s afterschool program (K-6th grade). The Center’s 7-12th graders opened gifts donated by generous community members and wrapped by Club volunteers.
