Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester Announces Four New Hires

The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester (BGCNW) is proud to announce the addition of four outstanding professionals to its team, strengthening the organization’s leadership and programmatic offerings as it continues its mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential.

Alexandra M. Freer-Hernandez

Among the new hires is Alexandra M. Freer-Hernandez, a seasoned nonprofit and legal professional with over 23 years of legal experience and more than a decade of leadership in nonprofit management. Originally from Puerto Rico, Alexandra has served in roles such as Executive Director, Director of Quality, Assurance and Compliance, and Deputy Director for Residential Services. Before joining BGCNW in January 2025, Alexandra contributed her talents across the government, nonprofit, and private sectors in Puerto Rico. Known for her expertise in operational efficiency, she has supported entrepreneurs, corporate leaders, and nonprofits.

Chris Beaudreault

Also, joining the team is Chris Beaudreault, a passionate educator and STEM advocate. Chris brings hands-on teaching experience and a strong commitment to youth development. Previously serving as Director of Technology and STEM Programming, Chris has now assumed the role of Director of Teen Programs at BGCNW. In his new position, he continues to lead with innovation, helping teens build academic confidence, develop leadership skills, and pursue healthy lifestyles.

Mike Travers

Mike Travers also joins The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester as new Head Swim Team Coach. Travers coaching accomplishments have included over 50 NCAA All-Americans and CSCAA Scholar All-Americans, 15 USA Swimming Senior National Qualifiers and numerous Metropolitan Conference champions and record-holders. Travers, a four-time American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) Coach of Excellence, collected his own personal achievements in the pool, as well. He was a USA Swimming Senior and Junior National Qualifier, and captured the Senior National Championship in the 4×100-meter relay in 1991.

Dan Beaudreault

Lastly, Dan Beaudreault, is the new full-time Facilities Manager at the Boys & Girls Club, bringing over a decade of experience in youth programming and education. Prior to stepping into this role, Daniel dedicated more than 10 years as a Fun Club Counselor, where he fostered a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for kids of all ages. He also spent time as a preschool teacher, gaining valuable insight into early childhood development and care. With a strong background in both hands-on youth engagement and operational support, Daniel is committed to ensuring the Boys & Girls Club remains a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained space for all members to learn, play, and grow.

These hires represent the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester’s continued investment in excellence, equity, and impactful programming for the youth and families of our community.
