A New Find in Hastings-on-Hudson

One of the first things new customers often ask is, “What does Re-Find mean?” Husband and wife team, Jack and Lisa, explain it this way: Re-Find is actually many stores in one.

It has a women’s and children’s clothing section featuring NYC showroom samples and overstock at 50-75 percent off original prices. The brands available include Cutloose, Flax, Loco Linda and Michael Stars for women, and Charlie Rocket, Deux Par Deux, Paul Frank and Cach Cach for children.

The housewares are vintage items like Pyrex, Fire King and Anchor-Hocking. The kind of thing your mother or grandmother owned — thus the name “Re-Find.” There are also eco- friendly, green and recycled goods which are fair trade, decorative and functional.

The furniture selection is vintage mid-century and reasonably priced. Sprinkled throughout the store are handcrafted items like wooden serving pieces, pottery, mirrors, decorative wall art, clocks and rugs.

Vintage jewelry abounds with trays featuring unique pieces at ten dollars each. Vintage jewelry is as popular now as it ever was especially as it is eco friendly for the environment! Other jewelry is handmade from things like vintage beads, buttons or telephone wire. Work by local artist Bonnie Rogers is featured.

The greeting cards are an eclectic selection of recycled or letterpress and several of them have wildflower seeds embedded in them for planting by the recipient. Gourmets will appreciate the cookbook area as well.

Re-Find is located opposite the Hastings Library at 2 Spring Street in Hastings-on-Hudson. Store hours are 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and daily after Thanksgiving. The telephone number is 914-478-FIND (3463).

Re-Find is a fun place to shop for your special gifts.
