To the Editor:
There are many reasons why Congressman Mike Lawler should be replaced by a strong, knowledgeable, and experienced Democrat. Critics point to the gap between his moderate image and his consistent voting record with Republican leadership, as well as concerns about his positions on tariffs and congressional oversight.
Others have focused on Cait Conley’s candidacy, raising questions about transparency, residency, and experience. While her military and national security background demonstrates intelligence and expertise in global affairs, some voters question whether it provides sufficient experience in areas such as budgeting, infrastructure, labor issues, education, immigration, and local community concerns. Questions have also been raised about her work in the artificial intelligence sector and her responses to criticism of those professional ties.
However, I would rather focus on why I support Beth Davidson.
Beth Davidson is smart, knowledgeable, courageous, and deeply connected to the communities she seeks to represent. She has spent years working on the everyday issues that matter most to families, including healthcare, immigration, and responsible budgeting. She has stood with a diverse constituency that includes Haitian, South Asian, Latino, Jewish, and many other communities.
Davidson is also battle-tested. Having run multiple campaigns in a politically competitive district, she understands how to govern, build coalitions, and navigate difficult political environments. She believes healthcare should be accessible, immigration policies should be fair and humane, and civil rights must be protected.
Most importantly, Beth Davidson has both a vision and a plan for serving on day one. At a time when experience, competence, and proven commitment to the community matter most, she is the candidate I trust to represent us in Congress. That is why I am voting for Beth Davidson.
