Letter to the Editor: Endorsement for Annie Gomez for Ossining Board of Ed

To the Ossining Community:

As we look toward the upcoming Board of Education election on May 19, I am writing to express my support for Annie Gomez.

Through my work on the board and my involvement in our schools, I have seen many individuals step up to serve, but few possess the tireless drive and focused advocacy that Annie brings to the table. She understands that the success of our students is tied not only to their academic achievements but to their overall well-being and the resources we provide to support them.

Annie is a committed fellow trustee who pursues advocacy at the highest levels. Her recent trip to Washington, D.C., to advocate for federal mental health funding is a testament to her commitment. She recognizes that the challenges facing our children today require proactive, comprehensive solutions, and she has the courage to take the Ossining message directly to our national representatives to ensure our district receives the support it deserves.

In our community, Annie is known as a fierce advocate for our children. She possesses the ability to listen to the concerns of parents and educators and translate those needs into actionable goals. Her perspective has been an invaluable addition to the board as we navigate the complexities of district governance and work to ensure every student in Ossining has a safe, supportive, and well-funded environment in which to learn.

We need trustees who are ready to lead with empathy, experience, and a bold vision for the future. Annie Gomez has proven she has the heart and the tenacity to do exactly that.

I encourage you to join me in voting for Annie Gomez for the Board of Education on May 19 at Ossining High School.

Sincerely,
Roger Battacharia
