Letter to the Editor: Alternative to Large Halloween Gatherings

I have been reading your articles about the upcoming Tarrytown parade and Halloween events. Parents and children who don’t like large crowds but still want to have fun at a great Halloween event are invited to attend this weekends Spooktoberfest –Saturday, October 19 from noon to 4:30 PM (rain or shine). The event will be held at Hart’s Brook Nature Preserve, 156 Ridge Road in Hartsdale. Hartsbrook, for those who have never been there, is a spectacular park just minutes away from Central Ave with a great hiking trail that covers 3.2 miles. There is an abundant variety of native flora and fauna, with streams, ponds, meadows and geologic features of interest at the park. The Spooktoberfest event will be held at the open field space.   There are events inside a barn.
