19th Century Baseball: The Fabric of America
“…They’ll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. The memories will be so thick, they’ll have to brush them away from their faces… America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It’s been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But baseball has marked the time.
This field, this game — it’s a part of our past. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again.”
Visit the Lincoln Depot Museum on July 20th, 1:00 – 4:00 pm, to see a collection of 19th century baseball ephemera and memorabilia,
and to meet the collector!
It was another time – and it was just yesterday. Play Ball!
